Overview
Theryn ("we", "us") operates theryn.org. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
When you submit a contact or alpha tester application form, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your Minecraft username and any message or experience details you provide
- File attachments you choose to upload on support forms (images, videos, documents, or archives)
- Your network IP address, used only for abuse prevention
If you join one of our newsletters, we collect your email address and record that you agreed to receive occasional updates. We store which list you joined (Theryn server news or ItemMagnet plugin updates), which page you signed up from, when you subscribed, and a log of subscribe, unsubscribe, and welcome-email activity.
We do not require an account to browse the site or read public documentation in The Archive.
How we use your information
- To read and respond to your inquiry or alpha tester application
- To send a confirmation email when you submit an alpha tester application
- To send occasional newsletter emails about Theryn launches, server updates, or ItemMagnet plugin news (only if you opt in to the relevant list)
- To send a welcome email when you join a newsletter list
- To prevent spam and abuse through rate limiting
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use form data for advertising profiles.
Third-party services
We use the following services to operate the website:
- Supabase — stores account profiles and newsletter subscriber records
- Resend — delivers contact and application emails on our behalf, and may deliver newsletter emails when we send them
- Vercel — hosts the website and provides anonymous usage analytics
- Sentry — captures error reports to help us fix technical issues (when configured)
Each provider processes data according to its own privacy policy and only to the extent needed to provide the service.
Analytics
In production, we use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand page performance and general traffic patterns. We also record custom interaction events — such as alpha CTA clicks, contact form submissions, alpha tester applications, newsletter signups, and newsletter unsubscribes — to understand how visitors use the site. We never send names, emails, Minecraft usernames, or other personally identifying information in those events. These tools do not use cookies for cross-site tracking and collect aggregated, privacy-friendly metrics. Enable them in the Vercel project dashboard under Analytics after deploy.
The public /stats page displays aggregate in-game activity from our Minecraft server (such as player counts, playtime leaderboards, and public explorer profiles with Minecraft usernames and skins). Verified account linking stores your Java Edition UUID when you complete the in-game /link flow. It does not expose IP addresses or session-level data on the public page.
Retention
Form submissions are retained in our email inbox for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, evaluate alpha tester applications, and maintain reasonable records. Newsletter subscribers are stored in our database until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address.
Your choices
You may request access to or deletion of information you submitted by emailing us. You can browse the site without submitting any personal data. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe or request deletion of their email address at any time.
